The Arkansas Health Care Payment Improvement Initiative is a statewide effort by Arkansas Medicaid, the Arkansas Department of Human Services, Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield and QualChoice of Arkansas to reward providers for high-quality, well-coordinated care.

The initiative works through episodes of care, which wrap the services around a procedure or condition into a single measured bundle, and through patient centered medical homes, which support primary care practices as they coordinate care for their patients. Here you will find an overview of the programme, the episodes that have been part of it, the support available to practices and the reports that connect performance to payment.

Providers can enter quality data and retrieve their reports through the provider portal, read the PCMH manual and additional resources, or reach the programme team through the contact pages. Programme rules, payment levels and reporting requirements do change over time, so always confirm current details with the official programme materials.
